I have established every Monday afternoon a special learning session with the up and coming Barmitzvah candidates at Perth Synagogue. This not only gives me an opportunity to know the Barmitzvah boys before their Barmitzvah, but also gives me a chance to have some input into producing the type of mensh that the Perth Synagogue wishes their Barmitzvah candidates to be.

First and foremost, I want these Talmidim to be humble, Jewishly committed and learned and never to feel that they are any more important in the eyes of Hashem than any of their fellow Jews who mightn’t have these qualities.
I have introduced the Barmitzvah Talmidim to Talmud (Gemorah) and hope that as a result the Perth Jewish community will end up with far more Talmidei chachomim (Torah scholars) in the future as well as Perth Synagogue (PHC) being strengthened in the process.Your rabbi
